Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) Christophe Gans

If you’re in the mood for a story that lingers long after the last credit, start here.  I’ve always been obsessed with French movies.  Brotherhood of the Wolf is not only that.  It is action, period drama, and a little bit of romance.  All in all, very French.  When it came out it was also astounding that Americans were going to see a subtitled movie.  That’s how good it is.  It gets subtitle haters into the cinema to see a well-made action movie that has such great visuals, costumes, and characters.  Slightly based on historical events, a beast is stalking the French countryside killing not only animals, but also people.  A renowned naturalist and his friend from the New World, Mani are tasked with finding and killing this beast.  There is so much more to the story and people surrounding it.
