Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle
Screenwriter Misha is on his way to a studio meeting when he catches something bizarre out of the corner of his eye. He thinks nothing of it and carries on. The meeting is terrible as he is told to kill off the two main characters of his show after building to their romance and big on-screen kiss. He is sick of Hollywood suppressing and killing his gay characters. He is known for his queer horror films and is shocked when some of his creepier characters start following him around. I'm not one for scary things normally, but I did read this one for spooky season and it turned out to be scarier for another reason. You don't know what is happening till the end, which is a good thing. Don't disregard the asexual in the corner.
