Sam is still on leave as a Detective Inspector from Scotland Yard after too many murders and too much stress, she finally had enough. She is just thinking out going back to work when a girl is murdered and on the body is a book called How to Get Away with Murder, a supposed work of non-fiction. A confession as much as a how to book on getting away with murder. Dipping her foot back into work she is tasked with finding the author and seeing if the confessions are real or nothing more than a macabre story. Simple tasks seem to make her spin and her new young trainee is helping more than he should sometimes. Things escalate, as they often do in a murder inquiry, and Sam doesn’t know who to trust. She is beginning not to even trust herself. By the end, readers will be questioning Sam as well. A bit of a thrill.
