Nimona by N.D. Stevenson

I’m late to the party on this one, but Nimona by N.D. Stevenson presented itself and I’m glad I opened the door.  From reading the lovely extras at the end, I found this started as a web comic and I’m so glad it became a book and then a 10th anniversary edition.  I love the art, the mash up of the worlds and the characters.  It’s a kind of medieval world where there is still TV and modern communications.  Knights wear armor, but they also have enhanced weaponry.  Nimona is a shapeshifter who wants to squire for Lord Ballister Blackheart and help him with his villainy.  They are hilariously up against Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin (not kidding) and the Institution.  It is a great story that blurs the line of good and evil. Great art and heart.
