The Housemaid by Freida McFadden.  A simple suspense thriller that is a quick read if you need something to distract you from all the Christmas music.  Millie is just looking for a job, but she also needs a place to live…her car just isn’t as cozy as she thought it would be after prison. Luckily, she finds the perfect job, attic room included, with the Winchester family.  She cleans the house from top to bottom, cooks their meals, and watches the young Cecilia who eats nothing but chicken nuggets. Nina and Andrew seem to be the perfect couple, but why is Nina constantly making messes and acting like a lunatic?  Why does Andrew put up with it? It is a roller coaster that you get to ride twice when you change narrators.  A kind of Gone Girl twist you may see coming but is satisfying.
