The Last Sunset (1961)

There are quite a few men in close fitting trousers with a gun on their hips in The Last Sunset (1961).  Rock Hudson is on the trail of Kirk Douglas who is on the trail of Dorothy Malone.  Hudson’s character is after Douglas because he killed his brother-in-law.  Douglas is after Malone because she is the girl that got away.  After seeing them together, you can see why she ran away from him into the gentler arms of a loveable drunk played by Joseph Cotten.  They must all pretend to get along while they move cattle from Mexico to Texas where Hudson can legally arrest and hang Douglas. Kirk Douglas should get special mention for the very tailored outfit that he seemed to be sewn into.  It was a surprisingly emotional ending with a bit of a twist.
