The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton (1993)
If you have a lot of presents left to wrap and need something to inspire you, you can’t go wrong with Tim Burton’s 1993 classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is a great double-duty movie. It can be for Halloween or Christmas. The voice talents are not to be denied. Catharine O’Hara as Sally and Chris Sarandon as Jack Skellington are a power couple. Like most power couples the man has crazy ideas and the woman has to make him see sense without bruising his ego. Jack is the Pumpkin King but is bored with Halloween. On a long walk he finds the entrance to Christmas and decides that he needs a change and what better way than to take over another holiday and make it his own? So many great songs by Danny Elfman and the animation is truly beautiful and still holds up these many years later.
