I’ve always been a fan of Wallace and Gromit and all Aardman creations. Chicken Run (2000) is no exception. Life on Tweedy’s farm is no picnic for the chickens. They do try and make the best of it, and the best of it is constantly trying to escape and live free range. Ginger is the leader of the flock and she’s got a lot of help. However, they just can’t seem to make it past the fence. Along comes Rocky, and he promises that he can teach them to fly and be free. When the truth about chicken aerodynamics is revealed, will it be too late for this fab flock or will they end up in a pie? Will the humans figure out that they are smart and organized or just keep thinking of them as dumb clucks? A movie full of great voice performances and hilarious hidden jokes, this is for kids and grown-ups.
